Snork #89 – Tufan Dagtekin – Synopsis
SYNOPSIS
Got some rhythm? Then here we go! Tufan Dagtekin presents his debut on Snork Enterprises
“Synopsis”. Right from the start, his production rushes into the beat. He makes himself very clear
– there is no time to rest! Precisely, he pauses the rhythm from time to time, but just to have it
get going even stronger afterwards. The tension remains throughout the whole song.
Whereas the original sticks to very well-known techno sounds, clear cuts and old-school echoes,
Syntax Error adds some experimental swoosh to the composition. His remix is straight forward.
With just some minor alteration, he pushes you right through a progressive techno piece.
TUFAN DAGTEKIN
“You know you are listening to Tufan’s trails, when you find yourself not only listening to music
but actually being the music.” As inspired as his description are his tunes. Tufan Dagtekin loves
to experiment with different sounds. It never gets boring! Even though right now he is living in
Istanbul, he has strong ties to Germany – not only because he was born there and still has some
family living there, but actually because it was the place where he first got into contact with
electronic music. And now, having been all over the world, he is quite confident that Germany is
the best place for techno.
Even though his current profession – being a producer in animations and sound design – is only
slightly related to techno, he is still a passionate producer and has planned several new
productions. Up to now, he has been releasing on labels such as State of Techno Recordings
and Funguu Traxx. He also has completed several productions with his friend and Snork
Enterprises label owner Christian Schachta as “Dagtekin and Schachta” back in the days. Finally,
in 2017, here he goes with his first release on his friend’s label.
SYNTAX ERROR
The obscure world of the deep and groovy techno music is the well-known territory of Syntax
Error. Having started as techno DJ in the late 90ies, he soon found his very special sound
favoring deep wobbly bass-lines, harsh snares, FM tones and drones, deep bass drums and
tricky percussion. Like a syntax error, he breaks with commonplace regularities and creates a
wholly new sound experience that is highly recognized within the techno scene.
Up to 2014, he has produced over 20 different 12” releases on the labels Snork Enterprises,
Feinwerk, Relax2000 and UNDERtheGROUND Records. Each of his releases is an authentic,
passionate creation of sound always mirroring some experience from his personal life - whether
it’s from his adventures as scuba diving tycoon, as sonar operator or as DJ and producer
enthusiastically roaming the techno club scene.
SNORK ENTERPRISES
It's a distinct sound diving deep down into the spheres of genuine underground techno where
bass-lines surround your mind and the fascination of a gloomy yet groovy world of sounds
inevitably enters your head.
Founded in 2004 by techno DJ and producer Christian Schachta, known as Syntax Error, Snork
Enterprises is a base for modern underground electronic techno music. It's not at all about being
pretentious or arty for the sake of it. It's about real depth on the dance floor. Short and sweet:
very snorky! It's a journey with friends such as Cristian Vogel, Phil Kieran, Jens Zimmerman,
Daze Maxim, DJ W!ld and other big names from the techno scene having dedicated themselves
